I Feel Like A Failure.

I have not been posting as I should, and I have not been exercising as much either. My eating patterns are so poor that you would be disappointed in me If I gave details. The last few months have been stressful in many aspects. Unfortunately, my exercise and diet regime suffered as a result. It's a wonder that I haven't gained so much weight.

Thankfully, I am stopping myself RIGHT NOW, before things go way out of hand. Under normal circumstances I would immediately post my weight but since I want to start a new week with measurements, I will post my details on Sunday. My plan is to go on a detox for three days to reboot my system. So much junk has been going down these fast few months and my system needs a thorough cleanse.

To those that I've disappointed, I'm so sorry. Not only do I want to lose weight, I want to be a motivator to you; my friends. I promise to try harder to stay on track.

Here's to better days. Bless you all.

Cheers.

A Good Week!

The previous week was a successful one as far as diet and exercise goes. Between last Sunday and today, I burnt 5,672 calories, according to my Garmin HRM. A good achievement, right? I think so too. I think using the HRM has helped me make careful choices when making food decisions. After burning all those calories, the last thing I want to do is go eating beyond the allotted 1,200 calories a day as prescribed.

Besides, like they say......

I sure as heck don't want to be doing all that hard work and messing it up because I can't seem to be disciplined enough to avoid that extra piece of cake or extra serving of rice. Thankfully, my hard work was rewarded. I saw a loss on the scale. I'm creating my workout plan for the week and will definitely share it with you guys as soon as I'm done.

How was your week? What are your plans for this week?

Motivating Myself & Ab Sculpt....

I got home yesterday evening feeling tired, sore and in no mood to workout. Then, I remembered this picture I saw on Pinterest and that was enough to push me onto the elliptical.

I did the whole 60 minutes as planned and felt really good afterwards.

The machine says I burned 676 calories and I covered 15.6 kilometers. I must admit that it always feels great when I'm able to achieve my daily workout goals. Planning really helps because I don't have to waste time deciding on what workout to do when I wake up at 3:30am or get back from work at 6pm.

This morning I did Shaun T's Ab Sculpt workout from Hip Hop Abs and my.... it was difficult. I was struggling at some points and my soreness didn't help. Guess the elliptical workout from the previous night played a role in this since, I love to do all sorts of stuff like posing in a squat and pedaling backwards to work my thighs and glutes.

Anyways, I'm taking things one day at a time.

How was your workout today? Do anything fun?

Getting My Act Together….

As I said in my previous post, things have not been so good in the eating and working out departments. I however have found a way to solve both problems (hopefully). Planning!

Yes, I’m sure some of you are rolling your eyes and saying “Didn’t she already know that?” Well, maybe I did, but I haven’t been consistent with that as far as my healthy regime is concerned.  Thank God for the numerous opportunities to try till I succeed. Anyways, I have decided to go back to the food journal since it does help me check on my junk intake.

With the exercise bit, I’ve decided to exercise at least four times a week. That would be my major goal till the year ends. I still have five full months to lose some weight and I’m going to try my possible best to do that. In addition, since I’m a serious series viewer, I’ve decided to kill two birds with one stone by watching my favorite programs when I’m working out. And boy, are they many! Here’s a list of what I love to watch at the moment:

  • Drop dead diva
  • Rizzoli and Isles
  • Luther
  • True blood
  • Teen wolf
  • Hit the floor
  • Franklin & Bash
  • The Haves & Have Nots
  • Ray Donovan
  • Suits
  • Extreme Weight Loss
  • Private Practice
  • Person of Interest
  • 2 Broke Girls

Here are the others that I can’t wait to watch when they resume a new season:

  • The Vampire Diaries
  • The Originals
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • Game of Thrones
  • Mike and Molly
  • Hart of Dixie
  • Nikita
  • Arrow
  • Beauty and the Beast

Wow! They are so many that I won’t be surprised if I have left out some. It’s a wonder that I even read!

What series do you guys love? Share some of your favorites… Please? Smile

December is Here.

November has come and gone. It was a great month for me. I joined a weight loss forum and logged in all my meals and exercises. I failed to journal for only two days but on the whole I believe I did great. Logging my food intake really made me watch what I was eating. I think it also motivated me to exercise regularly too. Seeing people journal Taebo, Leslie Sansone videos, Body Pump, Insanity etc. made me realize that if people are working harder to achieve their goals, so must I.

Anyways, I gave my tickers a reboot. I said I was not going to disclose my weight earlier till i reached 200lbs but, where is the accountability to you guys if you can't witness my losses and gains? So I've decided to continue the weekly weigh-ins even though I'm not 200lbs. :-)

How many of you guys have heard about the Warrior Diet? The folks at the weight loss forum seem to be into it because most of them have lost crazy amounts of lbs by following the program. Apparently, you eat  little during the day and then eat (not overeat) your main meal for dinner. I tried it during the week and I must say it's not a bad regime. You get to eat fruits and vegetables in the day and then adequate amounts of carbs and proteins at night. I must confess that it does take a bit of discipline to ensure that you don't binge :-)

I'm hoping that if I follow my diet and exercise plans to the letter I would be able to reach Onederland by Christmas. I'm also thinking of getting a camera so that I can post more pictures here.

Here's to a great month. Cheers.

181 Days Left......

Yes. I have 181 days left to prove that I didn't just waste 181 opportunities to lose weight. My year started well and then things went haywire in April. I found it difficult to balance my late hours at the office with exercise. Heck! I was usually too tired to prepare a meal let alone exercise. I felt so ashamed when I realized that I haven't hit any of my weight loss goals for the year.

However, I'm not just going to sit down and feel sorry for myself. I fell and now I'm getting back up. The goals remain the same. If it means I have to workout out twice a day to ensure that I have had my 60minutes of daily exercise, then that's what I'm going to do. I'm tired of being fat dammit!

M.I.A...

I know I've been away for too long. Forgive me. Work has been crazily hectic and my internet connection has been giving me problems. Unfortunately, I hate typing blog posts on my Nokia C3.

Back to business. Woke up this morning and weighed in at 91.8kg. No loss. I'm not surprised though since my eating patterns have not been the best lately (junk food, diet soda, late night eating, etc) But I did try to exercise three times a week. Thank God for my treadmill, else it would have been no exercise at all.

Last week I made enquiries at a gym in the area. Turns out their three month standard fee is almost 1/2 of what I get paid in a month... Too expensive but, maybe that's what I need to push me out of this rut. Onederland is so close and it hurts to see the land of "Canaan" if you know what I mean.

94.5. Hard Work Reaps Rewards...

Phew! Finished my workouts a few minutes ago. I really didn't feel like working out but, I had no excuse for not exercising. So, i just reminded myself as usual "No weight loss, no rewards and, stay obese. Trust me when I say that worked for I was up on my feet and power walking my way to Britney Spears' Circus by the 5th minute on the treadmill.

So, I have a few questions; Why don't people get it when we refuse to take weight loss drugs? Don't they realise that practice makes perfect? How am I expected to learn how to have a good lifestyle if I'm to comtinue popping pills just to stay at a healthy weight? Besides, it's not like the drugs give you a toned and defined body or, do they?

Two days ago, someone felt I was wasting my time by exercising and kept trying to recommend a drug to me. I just said to him "Please, I really want to do this my way. I want to be proud enough to say I did it through hard work, dedication and commitment".

After all, it is hard work that reaps the best rewards.

Cheers..

Why Am I Losing Weight? The Reasons.

So I have several friends who keep asking me why I punish myself by exercising for 40-60 minutes, 6 days/week. The sad part is that most of them think I'm doing it to please my boyfriend. This of course is true to some extent. After all, who wouldn't want to look hot for her man.

Anyhoo, I decided to write down all  my reasons for losing weight. And I'm sure you'll share some points with me.

Here it goes.......

Why Lose Weight? The List

  1. To increase my fitness and endurance levels
  2. To sleep better and not snore at night
  3. To lower my risk of getting diabetes and heart disease
  4. To feel fabulous
  5. To avoid being called a fatty by total strangers
  6. To be able to buy cute clothes
  7. To look good naked
  8. To find a higher level of confidence
  9. To impress my boyfriend
  10. To make my parents happy
  11. To be able to buy clothes at every clothing store in town
  12. To be able to wear tee shirts and camisoles confidently.
  13. To be able to put on a bathing suit
  14. To live longer and have a bright future
Here it is... At least for now. If any more reasons come up the list will be updated. Do you have any reasons that do not appear on my list? Please share....
